It is almost like that tech site is to help people deal with horde armies like tyranids and orks.

I have no horse in this race but I think it is a really cool tournament

But the mindshackle scarabs stratagem doesn't mention tech site at all. So your opponent can kill half your unit then watch moral take the rest. Every turn. With nothing you can do to stop it.
You know those times when you wish you could think of something funny or interesting to say, but just can't... yeah, this is one of those times.

That strat was defs supposed to be a once a game - had it like that in my notes.

I'll repost the VSF tweaks soon - end of term is smashing me at the moment.

"any" is your key word there. Basically if any combination of other roles IE: Elite+Heavy or Heavy + HQ is more, then penalty is incurred.

Just want to make sure I'm reading this correctly. The way I've understood it so far from previous Vets, you don't add up the different battlefield roles together (as implied by HQ+Heavy) but just look at the totals for each role.

For example, if I 1500 Heavy, 800 Troops and 700 HQ, I would not incur a -15 penalty, since only Heavy > Troops. But it seems like you're saying that if I have 1400 Troops, 800 HQ and 800 Heavy, I would get the penalty since HQ+Heavy > Troops.

Its been that way for a while at Vets

If i run 1300 Pts of troops 800 HQ and 600 Heavy and 200 Fast attack i would get penalized for having
any 2 other FOC categories worth more then my combined troops total.

Since HQ + Heavy = 1400 and Troops is less then that

Ah, thanks. Is that including Dedicated Transports as well? And is it the same for Associated Dedicated Transports in VSF as normal ones?

Only 5 or 6 man squads for SM razorbacks that are Associated Dedicated Transports. They can be taken as regular Dedicated Transports.
